Pastor Irwin Rea Retires after 37 years

After 37 years in the minstry Pastor Irwin Rea made Sunday 2nd Nomber his date for retirement, the same date became a Pastor back in 1987.

Pastor Irwin Rea has been a dedicated Pastor, a visitor, a preacher, and of course a singer and worship leader.

At a sepecial presentation during the service Pastor Irwin was accomanied by his wife Amy, and then joined by the Pastors and Elders. Previous Pastors have sometimes spoken to the congregation at such times - and Pastor Irwin of course did that. Anyone who knows Pastor Irwin knows that his message to the church would end in a song, and chose "His eye is on the sparrow" to close his comments.

On behalf of all the leadership and all the members and friends we want to pay tribute to him, for the years of service, and, like others that have gone before him, consistently going well beyond what was required in order to serve both God's kingdom and the people here at whitewell.

Although Pastor Irwin has now retired, he assures us all that Whitewell remains his home, and we're sure he'll remain a blessing to us all in the days that lie ahead.
