As part of our continued focus on safeguarding for everyone, a big word of thanks needs to go to our safeguarding team, our safeguarding trainer, and most of all to over 130 volunteers and staff who have attended safeguarding training in 2026.
The training was held in our youth center, in January and in May, and covered subjects for team members working in both ministries for children and adults at risk. Thank you all for your service here in Whiltewell, congratulations on successfully completing your training, and thank you for your time serving in ministries in church.
In addition, we are pleased that our Safeguarding Lead, Tim Hancock, is now a member of the Public Protection arrangements for Northern Ireland Faith Forum. We believe this will help strengthen links between our safeguarding team and wider safeguarding initiatives in other churches and beyond in Northern Ireland.
