Foundation Course
The New Testament Foundation Course is a one-year course designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of the New Testament and strengthen their faith through Biblical study.
The course is taught by a variety of lecturers over 40 sessions, usually held on the first Saturday of each month from September through June.
The Foundation Course must be completed before enrolling in the Diploma in Biblical and Pastoral Studies.
What You Will Study
Topics covered throughout the year include:
- An overview of the books of the New Testament
- Key teachings and themes of the New Testament
- Short biographies of important leaders in the early Church
- An introduction to the history of the New Testament era
- Answering the question ‘How did we get our English Bible?’
Certificate Requirements
Students will receive a Certificate on the basis of:
- Attendance at the Saturday sessions
- Successful completion of a short multiple-choice written test

This book will be available to purchase from The Shepherd’s Academy bookstall from September.
Course Fees
The cost of the course is £85.00.
Payment can be made in full at the registration evening or in instalments throughout the academic year.
